The Ipsley Church TJM team is still a small one but finds itself involved with a variety of social issues affecting Christians.
A few of the more significant ones during 2009 are highlighted below
Fairtrade fortnight (Feb) - awareness in church services of the Fairtrade movement
Christian aid week - distributing and collecting envelopes, demonstrating posters within church, promoting gift catalogues
Quizaid - organisation of a successful quiz evening to raise finds for Christian Aid as well as having a good time ourselves. Around 60 people came.
Walk through the park for picnic lunch (July) Arrow Valley Park.
Christmas coffee morning (Nov) - Big Sing. We held a Fairtrade stall and organised singing whereby people chose their favourite hymns.
We also help to arrange the communal Christmas card signed as an alternative to individual ones handed out. There are other events which are supported locally with Redditch Town Centre Trade Justice Group and also nationally which we sometimes attend.
Once again new members of the group are most welcome. Please contact John Legge/Lesley Barcham or the Church Office for further details.
