Proclaiming God's Love to Parish & People Through Faith in Action

FamilyService This service held at 10:00 am in the Church Centre is aimed at families and those who are young at heart. Its format has changed over the years but we aim to provide a form of worship to enable everyone to meet God, in a friendly and relaxing manner.

Two elements that are always in focus are to provide teaching for both young and old, so they may grow in Christ and sharing the Good News of Jesus to today's generation.

On the first Sunday of each month we have a Café Style Service, this has a magazine style format to attract visitors. Coffee and Danish pastries are served from 9.45 am and when the service finishes at 11.00 am A Youth Band leads modern worship songs. We include items of interest for all ages, films, dramas, quizzes and discussions. A recent theme for these services was 'What is Church?'

The second Sunday of the month is our Communion Service. A modern form of Liturgy is used for the Eucharist and all who love the Lord are welcome to share in taking the bread and the wine.

Weeks 3 and 4 take the form of Age Related Teaching. The children and young people leave the service for their own activities while the adults remain in the Huband Room. Recent themes have included Jesus' Miracles and Paul's Journeys.

When there is a fifth Sunday in the month we worship in the Church as we wish to continue our connection with this historic building. We also have occasional joint services with St. Peter's in Winyates Family Service and the 11.15 Service, often having lunch together afterwards.

At the end of each service there are Children's fun activities, while Mums and Dads share coffee and a chat.

Family Service Cross After spending 9 months with the St. Peter's Family Service at Ipsley School, while our church was refurbished we felt that it was necessary to come to a common aim and purpose for our service. Suggestions were made by members of the congregation about what we like (or disliked) about the service and how it could be in the future. As a result of these discussions a cross was created from wooden bricks, different sizes, different shapes not perfect in any way. These represent members of our Family Service who are to be shaped and moulded into Christ's image. What could be a better aim?
