Community Carol Concert

Friday 1st December: 6.00 p.m. at Christ Church

 

Community Litter Pick

Saturday 2nd December: 10.00 - 12.00 noon (1st Saturday of each month)

We meet at the benches by the pond in Matchborough - refreshments and all necessary equipment is provided. This is an important part of our service to the local community, so please could as many people as possible turn up to help. Pat Witherspoon from the Council met us at our last litter pick and thanked Christ Church for everything we do in the community - "it does not go un-noticed, is very much appreciated and makes a difference"

 

Sparklers

Friday 8th December

For pre-school children, parents and carers - meet fortnightly in church from 10.00 - 11.15 a.m.

 

Christmas Evening Meals

Men: Wednesday 6th December at The Green Dragon in Sambourne - see Marcus for details

Ladies: Wednesday 13th December at The Dog Harvester - see Joy for details

 

Carol Singing in our Community

Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th December - meet in church at 7.20 p.m.

Please join us as we sing carols around some of the closes in Matchborough - this is a real opportunity to bring the good news of the Christmas message to our community. Bring a lantern!

 

New this year!

Christmas Eve Crib Service: 4.00 - 4.30 p.m.

For young families and those young at heart. Come prepared to act out the story of Jesus' birth. Dress as a character from the Nativity if you wish.

 

Christmas Day

We will again be cooking lunch on Christmas Day at Church for anyone who will be on their own or for those who find Christmas a difficult time. This will be followed by a social time with some games (optional!). Please see Richard or Wendy if you would like to come or if you know of anyone who might like an invitation

 

Messy Church

Saturday 13th January: 10.00 - 12.00 noon

Woodrow Community Centre

Messy Church is an all-age form of church for children and adults with crafts, a short celebration time with story and songs and food. It is free and there is no need to book - just come along - but children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. From 2018 the sessions will be held on the 2nd Saturday of every month (except in August)

 

Prayer at Christ Church

Every Tuesday evening from 7.30 – 8.30 p.m. we meet in the downstairs room in the Church Centre to pray (except when the DCC meet)

There is also an opportunity to pray every Sunday morning at 10.00 a.m. in the Prayer Room before the Morning Worship service

 

Support Groups

Support Groups are small groups meeting in someone's home on Wednesday evenings for fellowship and Bible study. We currently have four groups meeting and if you would like to join one please see Revd Richard

 

Bible Readings and Prayers
